Class Trip

In the first week of term four Rm. 13 had our class trip to the Botanical Gardens. We had a wonderful time exploring the gardens and learning about the native plants and forest ecosystem. Thank you again to our parent helpers Rowan and Tammy, and to Mrs. Martin for coming along to help - we couldn't have done it without you! Check our our photos below...

The Potter's Children's Garden was one of our favourite sections!

We found eels, tadpoles and ducks in the lake.

Here we sharing our knowledge about the forest before heading in for our bush walk.

Looking at the forest life cycle and ecosystem - what might we see in the forest?

We walked with mirrors held to our noses in order to see the tree canopy above. Our buddies guided us safely down the path.

Here we are learning about the FBI (fungi,  bacteria and insects) that break down leaves.

Fallen trees allow sun to reach lower-lying plants.

We organised the leaves we found to show the evolution from healthy to dead during the FBI process.

Thanks for stopping by!
