Room 13 is hosting assembly!

Kiaora whanau,

On Monday 11th June room 13 will be hosting the whole school assembly. It will take place at 2.15pm in the school hall (we ask you to please be seated by 2.10pm to ensure a prompt start). Your children can also wear mufti to school on that Monday and we would love to see you in the audience!

Hope to see you there!

Fun Run!

Last Thursday the whole school competed in the Fun Run. Students had to run around the field as many times as possible in 20 minutes. Room 13 children were AMAZING!!! They ran so fast and proved themselves to be very determined.  Students took home a small booklet weeks earlier and could ask family and friends to sponsor their run. If your child was being sponsored please return the money to the office or complete the payment online.

Thanks for stopping by.

3D structures!

Last Friday room 13 worked together in small groups to try and make a 3D structure out of dry spaghetti and marshmallows. We had been learning about 2D and 3D shapes and their properties all week. We had a lot of fun and worked really hard with our friends.
Here are some photos of what we got up to...

Race Relations Day!

Kiaora everyone,

Today we had our PCS Race Relations Day.
Children dressed up in their special cultural clothes and looked FABULOUS!
Here are some photos of room 13.

Don't forget that tomorrow there is a paid union meeting which many teachers will be attending.
It would be very much appreciated if you were able to pick up your child at 12.30.

Thank you!

Botanical Gardens Trip!

Last Thursday rooms 9, 11 and 13 went to the Botanical Gardens as part of our turangawaewae topic learning. We have been enjoying focusing on native NZ birds, plants and trees and we were so excited to see some of these in action!
We spent time exploring the gardens and had a special session with our educator Paul who taught us a LOT about NZ trees.
Here are some photos of our wonderful day out.

 Excited and ready to go!

Learning about kauri dieback and protecting our forests.

Harakeke (flax)

Staring up at the humongous totara tree.

Look out Dora the Explorer... room 13 are on the case!

Spotting a silver fern (don't worry it had already fallen on the ground).

Learning about all the different parts of the tree and how they work together.

 Spotting berries and leaves.

Guided mirror walk through the tree canopy.

 Can you spot the Tui?

Searching for bugs.

We had an absolutely AMAZING time. It would not have been possible without our fantastic parent helpers who volunteered their time, looked after us and supported us in our learning.
THANK YOU!
