Story of 10

Namaste,
Today in Maths we looked at the story of 10. The numeral 10 is written as ten in words. There are many ways to come to a total of 10. Today we looked at all the ways. These are the ways:

1+9 and 9 +1 makes 10
2+ 8 and 8 + 2 makes 10
3 + 7 and 7 + 3 makes 10
4 + 6 and 6 + 4 makes 10
5 + 5 makes 10
0 + 10  and 10 + 0 makes 10

Word problems related to the number 10 (ten).

1. Sally has 8 apples and her mother gives her another 2 apples. How many apples does  she have now?

2. Tamua and his brother eat 4 pies in the morning and they eat another six pies in the evening. How many pies do they eat altogether?

3. Manshika buys 3 pencils from Smiggles. Her mother gives her another seven pencils for her birthday. How many pencils does Manshika have now?

4. Mei Ling sells nine boxes of chocolates for the PTA. Her brother sells only one box. How many boxes did they sell in total?

Migration and our culture

Kia Ora,
Room 13 has been learning about migration. We now know that migration is movement of people from one country to another to live. Room 13 is very rich in their culture. We have been sharing our culture with our class. Here are some of us sharing our culture.
