Have a Go Day

On Tuesday morning the year 2 students were given the opportunity to work with Counties Manukau Sports and learn some new games and activities. Room 13 had a BLAST! We got to play softball and dodgeball, practice our taekwando moves, show off our soccer skills and learn about cricket.

This morning room 13 went outside and blew some bubbles. We have been learning about writing recounts and this was a fun activity that helped us practice sequencing our ideas and our actions.

Happy Chinese New Year!

Today is the official first day of the Chinese New Year for 2018. In room 13 we learnt some facts about this very special festival and made beautiful paper lanterns.

Today room 13 had their first te reo Maori lesson with Ms Purvis. It was AWESOME! We loved learning new greetings and two new action songs. Here are some photos of us enjoying our te reo time.

 Soon we will be bringing home the lyrics and with your help we can practice our new words and songs :)

Meet the Teacher!

Hi everyone!

I can't believe that we are already in week 3! Just a quick reminder that this Wednesday 14th February it is 'Meet the Teacher' evening at PCS.
This is an opportunity for you to learn more about year 2 expectations and to have a brief chat with me.
We will be meeting in room 11 at 6pm for a quick overview and then moving back to room 13.

Kia ora everyone and welcome to a new school year!

Room 13 have had a GREAT first two weeks back at school and are working hard to learn class routines and make new friends. Here are some photos of us practicing some reading activities and enjoying our first music lesson with Mrs Corke. We loved learning about ordering notes from low to high.
