Maths - Facts to 5

We have so much fun learning maths. We know now that instant recall of our basic facts is very important. We are starting with our facts to 5. So parents, please help us practise our facts at home.

Facts to 5

1 + 4 = 5        one plus four equals five                  
4 + 1 = 5        four plus one equals five
5 - 4 = 1         five minus four equals one
5 - 1 = 4         five minus one equals four

Problem:
I have one banana and my sister gives me another four bananas. How many bananas do I have altogether?


Answer: One banana plus four bananas equals five bananas .

Week 2 Update

Kia Ora,

Time is surely passing very fast. We are already in Week 2. This week we continue to learn new things about our classroom and also how we work as a team. 

We remind ourselves of our term value- Polite, Considerate and Sensible everyday. Look at our class rules. We follow the rules so all Room 13 children can have a wonderful time in class and school.
